On 15 November 2015 Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched the country’s first Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) pharmacy outlet at AIIMS in New Delhi to sell drugs at highly discounted rates.
The primary goal of AMRIT is to make available and accessible, at very affordable rates, all drugs, implants, surgical disposables that are not dispensed free of cost by the hospitals.
